This is why I’m singing Mariah Carey Christmas carols in my office…

“All I want for Christmas is you….to get powerful PR for your business and yourself!” Forgive me in advance if you find yourself singing Mariah Carey for the rest of the day.
As I write this post to you it’s nearly 80 degrees on the East Coast – finally – and I’ve just put the finishing touches on a 3-part class I’ll begin teaching the 2nd week of June that covers everything you need to know about pitching the holiday press, from ideas to pitch creation to execution.
Now some of you may be thinking, “Sabina, you are behind your computer way too much because Christmas is literally over six months away, chill out girl!” Oh but alas, that’s not the case on the media calendar my friends. In fact, monthly magazines are already planning and brainstorming their holiday gift guides and holiday-themed issues! They are such big undertakings, and bring in such high readership, that they need to get a head start on them, and by the time they get to July, well it’s “Christmas in July” (or in some cases, June!) in PR world. By that point most magazines will be in full swing in terms of accepting pitches, organizing issues and starting to pull in products as well as expert tips and story ideas.
This is 100% a case of “early bird gets the worm” so if you want powerful holiday coverage for your business (and why shouldn’t you?) locally or nationally, you need to begin writing a checklist and checking it twice. Plan your work and work your plan, baby!
Now let’s do the math: If June – August is prime pitching time for holiday gift guides then you need to start taking the action steps from prepping your pitching materials to developing your outreach list, well, right now!
Before you freak out or drop every other item on your important to do list in favor of a mildly panicked holiday outreach prep at your desk, take a deep breath, slow down and take in this wonderful news:
I’m going to make it all much more simple for you. I’m making your list of Holiday PR Prep To Do’s, I’m going to be teaching it to all of you this June and July as you execute the action steps it assigns you, and I’ll even walk you through the follow up – in real time!
CLASS DETAILS: Holiday PR Training in Real Time
This live, online training will be hosted every other Thursday from June 9th through July 7th, and will follow a format of lessons hosted by yours truly, live on camera and via webinar (so that you can see examples of what we’re talking about in real life), followed by what I like to call “Assignments into Action”. You’ll also be able to ask your questions live during each webinar, so you’ll feel supported every step of the way!
These aren’t just busy work bits of homework, I know you don’t have time for that. Every assignment is actually an action step that you will apply to your Holiday PR outreach campaign. This means that before class is dismissed you’ll be ready to go and pitch. I’ll also be giving you an early Christmas gift of mine own – a handy Holiday Pitching Companion Guide packed with tips, advice, scripts and templates that you can use to guide you along your way!
